CGTalk - R8 Edge Cut Tool

Using the built in edge cut tool in R8, is there any way of influencing where along the edge the new point will be created, rather than having it place in the middle of the edge?? Couldn't see anything documented in the manual...

Ignore that - just double checked the manual and it specifically says - "These divisions will be created equal distances apart". Dang! :thumbsdow

you could use the free Saw plugin, or (not free) Samirs DeepCutLiner, ror alternatively if it's just a single edge select it and use the knife tool on it to cut it wherever you want.

Hahaha - you know, I bought DeepCutLiner on the day Samir released it and got so involved in what I was doing last night that I completely forgot it was there! :banghead:

don't forget its just been updates...so load in the new version.

one of my best plugins imho...dunno how you can forget it!! certainly the liner part.:surprised
