View Full Version : [game engine] Rotate character to direction of key press

Hey everyone!
I tried to fit most of the question into the title, so I probably made it confusing, lol. What I'm trying to do is have the character rotate towards the direction of the key press. So if you press the 'right' key, the character is now facing right, if you press the 'left' key, the character is now facing left, and so on. Would I need to use Python for this? I haven't tried learning it yet, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt. Thanks in advance for any assistance http://tehclan.com/forum/style_emoticons/Light/smile.gif

I think if you look for a tutorial 'Walk through' you should find what you need. I think it was at blender.org but am not shure.

Thanks for the reply! I looked for that tutorial you were talking about, and found it at http://www.blender.org/education-help/tutorials/tutorial-folder/3d-walkthrough/ . There is a link to a required .blend file on the tutorial, however the link is broken. Would, eh, anybody happen to know the correct link, or if it even exists anymore..? The tutorial is all the back from version 2.25, so I know if it'd even still work...

I just looked in Google for 'Blender Walkthrough' and found a lot of resources. You also can look at 'blenderart.org' or 'blendernation.com'. At blenderart.org you will find a blender magazine wich is all about the GE. Will take you in work for some wile ;)
