HI

IM WORKING ON SOME SPECIAL EFFECTS FOR A FILM, AND CAN' T GET LIGHTING TO TRAVEL FROM SOMEONES HAND TO THEIR SHOUDLER LIKE IN BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA

HERES THE ONLY SCREENCAP I CAN FIND ON THE NET:

ALSO THE ACTUAL VIDEO OF THE EFFECT IM TRYING TO RECREATE IS AT AROUND THE TIME OF 1:10 ON THIS LINK:

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY ADVICE ON HOW THIS COULD BE DONE IN AFTER EFFECTS?

KIND REGARDS

MICHAEL

your probably well aware of this but i thought i would mention it just incase. after effects has a lightning effect, effects>generate>lightning.

what exactly is the problem, are you trying to get it to follow the curvature of his arm?

well i achieved what i wanted in the end

basically to wrap around someones leg and arms, dupicate the lightning until it looks like the lightning is wrapped around the person

doesn't really help you, but in the 'olden' days, traditional artist actually painted effects like that onto the celluoid (also see ghostbusters)
