Is anyone familar with UV tiles in Maya? I know that you can export polys with this type of mapping from Zbrush.

From what I've heard, tiles works fine in Maya. You just don't want to use texture anti-aliasing or mip-mapping.

There was this thread at ZBrush Central (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=011089&p=2) just a few days ago that was dealing with export settings to use. Pixolator created a script to automate the process.
