I always dreamed about strong workstation for long time, unfortunately I didn't have enough funds to get it,

for me as an artist using 3d studio and more graphics programs, it is so important as you know to have a great super computer to deal with and to have strong machine base that handles your artworks.

i always wanted to create short films for very long time, I couldn't because my PC cannot handle my work through the time, I used many ways to go around this issue (like composition) but no use.

I wanted to show my art to all of you great members but also I coudn't I will now have my time and relax on my new super workstation to do some animations (may be long time ones).

more about my secret of getting this great machine found HERE (http://mohad0.tripod.com/money.html), (because it is story out of this forum)

my machine that costs me 5650 $ is:

BOXX
Intel® Core 2 Extreme Processor QX6850 (3GHz) (Quad-Core)
4GB DDR3 1333 (4 DIMMS)
NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 512MB
250GB 7,200rpm SATA 16MB Cache

I'm so happy thanks GOD.

Is this machine enough to create high quality animations (let us say a little less than animations seen on here like warcraft (the man who fights the devils with the hummer inside forest) or like some other animations.
I know it is so difficult to create such great animations, but at least I'll take the challenge and create short film even by long time, I didn't show anyone here my abilities in animation field and in short films so it will be great chance.

:argh:
any advices?

Any Advices?

I don't know how big project this machine can handle, please can you give me some examples or advices.

I want to do big project, (for example my FERVOUR) project reached a very high poly counts and almost my machine couldn't help even if I hide lot of unnecessery objects, it realy sucks.

so what kind of art should I point to and start to do animation (my own one and my own story) depending on that issue.

any experienced members?

Whatever you like. It's difficult to say "this config can do exactly this and that and can't do this or that". That said, your system is pretty powerful so you should be able to do whatever you like. In most cases the limit is the speed; an artist well versed in tricks of optimization will be able to do whatever he/she wants, and the more powerful the system, the easier/faster will the task be.

newman:

you opened good door to me by mentioning optimization, I didn't do anything great yet because when I try to I get my machine hangs, and when I think about optimization I get a bit afraid of the camera movments and positions of the shots and center of interests.

you are right i will think about this more and find out some solutions.

good advice.
