Never used BP, never used Jenna, never used this "Other"
But shave is expensive and people seem to like making hair and stuff of the like...i would ultimately wait until darf can give some examples (gotta give him credit, hes taking all of this on himself) the BN plugins had a great reputation...a lot of people seem overly happy that they are gonna be R8 compatible...wait and see what the jennav2 suite holds in store. If not, i would default to shave.

I'd vote for Jenna, but only because I'm not making characters that need tight UV maps and hair. They do such different things. it knda depends what you're working on, doesn't it? C

Hmm, you can get both Ozone2 *and* Motion Builder for the price of Jenna2. Not saying J2 isn't worth, but that's the facts.

Just be sure to mention my name! :)
@Flingster: The MB 100$ offer ends in June or July. In August through December you can make the 1 year license a permanent one for another 100$. This will then be the next big update. After that every major update will be in the $250 range. Got my copy last week and itīs AWESOME!!!! Watch out, Adam - here comes another MB devotee!!
Ok - Beechdbum, it seems you are into characters, when wanting to buy Shave. According to Srek on the german forum, chances are good Version 2.0 will be out next month - same as the Maya version - all depending on Mr Alter.
Wait for that, if your decision is Shave. It was said to be a free update, some month ago, but i donīt really believe it. Anyone from Maxon care to clarify?
Bodypaint is AWESOME! Itīs a totally underestimated piece of software! Canīt do anything wrong with that. As always there is a wish list - some layer blend modes known from Photoshop are missing, it doesnīt handle big files as good as Photoshop and Projection Paint would be nice - but beside that, itīs a really, really great and powerful tool.
Jenna  There is not enough information on what Version 2 actually is!
Iīd wait for that before paying 300$.
My 2 cents....

Someone from Maxon posted on PF last week that the upgrade will probably be $50. Pretty reasonable IMO, given the work they've put into it, new features, and better render quality.
Thanks for the heads up, Adam - 50$ is reasonable for sure!

In order of importance to me:
1-BodyPaint is the most important to me since I create a lot of art for 3D games.
2-Baker for converting SLA materials into 2D bitmaps (must have). This needs an update though - it crashes Cinema in Mac OS X.
3-SpinPoly (Thanks to AdamT!!!) more control!
4-WeldTools for more modeling control.
5-Jenna - for lots of reasons
6-Shave and a Haircut - I have yet to use it commercially. Making fuzzy cubes is fun though. :P

woah... how'd i miss this thread? been too busy i guess.they're all great plugins. i've only played around with one small part of the jenna plugin, but i have to say it's amazing and indespensible for doing the specific job that it does. however you have to remember with all of these plugins, it's not really a mix and match, so much as think, what is it you want to be doing with cinema. jenna for instance while one of the coolest and most solid plugins out there is not going to help your texture or ca skills much, bodypaint conversely will have less use if you're main concern is animation or modelling.
i guess i'm saying, try to think what you need, then purchase based on that need.

I have to say all the plugins for C4D are cool! Regarding to a essensial one, maybe the VisualSelcetor and the upcoming SniperPro.

I'll add Steve's new PowerAxis plugin to the list. It quickly became my most-used plugin during the modeling process--another absolute "must-have", IMHO.
