Hi, i was hoping to get some help with imporving my render using vray.
Basicly im not satisfied with the results, i dont know what the problem is; the material or the scene or probably both.
The material is supposed to be crystal glass. What i want to achieve is a studio render with a white background with a little bit of dark gradeint and good looking glass. The floor needs to reflect the glass. as you can see the model has triangular sides which i want to be seen good.
basicly the scene is now set up exactly like here http://cg-india.com/Tutorials/V-Ray/3dsMax_tutorial_SL_01.html, but as u can see the results are not good.
i also tried following this tutorial http://www.aversis.be/extra_tutorials/vray_glass_liquid.htm but the results were not the same. maybe its because of the model itself? it reflects lights strangely imo.

some tips would be great.

this is the render

Well the first enviroment as in the cgindia site is ok for solid reflective objects but not for semi or transparent materials. For this one you really need something to reflect into and probably a better background that create the illusion of the refraction in the material, maybe something with lines or a chekerboard pattern. or something with a texture that pass thru the glass. I also can not see any caustic from the glass, to give it a little sense of depth it should have it.
