Hi. Very nice and eye catching. Nice loose style with excellent color and lighting. I like it very much. Your girlfriend has a very infectuous smile ... very happy and carefree. It establishes a nice mood and feeling to the painting.

Thanks for appreciate! Hope you enjoy the work~

chengwenxue:

I spended more time on hair than on other parts. Actually I used default brush because
I have no idea how to create original brushes! So I just started from large brush size
to draw light base color, and gradually decrease brush size to make details. It would be
wonderful if you can tell me some useful techniques!;)

I am glad that you enjoy this work! This is my first digital painting work and I would be
appriciate if you can give me some advices!
Btw, she is not my girl friend:shrug:... This is just an one-side love.
But maybe that is the best source of inspiration! :D Anyway, thanks for the message!!

No problem with giving you advice. Is there a particular aspect you'd like to focus on? I'll send you a private e-mail to address this.

As for Meijasan's recommendation to look at Melanie's work, I fully agree. She is an awesome artist. There's also, Linda Berkgvist, Marta Dahlig, Benita Winkler, and Jose Oli to name a few that you could also investigate. I believe that techniques are important, but hard work and lots of practice are even more important. In the end, it should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience for you.

You've done a great job with this painting!
