Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me out here, there are a lot of great minds of this board, so i figured this was a good place to turn....
Here is my problem:
I came home last night, got on my computer and was getting ready to work on some 3d models, I always listen to music while working so i opened up my play list and everything played but the sound was weird, all my songs were slow and sounded like they had a lot of reverb in them... well i put in a cd, and it did the same, and even my sound effects in windows sound the same (through speakers and headphones) does anyone know whats causing this? I checked all my graphic EQ settins and the like but no luck... i don't know whats going on
Thanks

i would check your volume settings. Try setting your windows volume settings to low and tune the volume on your speakers up ... sometimes that will fix that reverb or choppiness or distortion.

However, if that is not the case .... I would try switching locations of my sound card or cleaning up any mess that may cause EM interference. Last time I had that happen, it was something with the order of my PCI cards ... had to move my sound card to another slot to get it working normally ...

overall, I have no idea why stuff like that happens so randomly. But then again, nothing runs regularly forever. I get annoyed when my idiot coworkers get all PO'd @ me when their computers start working funky. Damn bastards. Just cuz it didn't do it yesterday doesn't guarantee that it won't happen today ... random stuff happens. Technology is a sure thing, on or off, 1's or 0's, but a blur will occur and a glitch will happen.

what sound card are you using?
i have a similar problem when doing 3d stuff sometimes...
but fixing it just involves closing the audio app and restarting it.

have you tried reinstalling or updating audio drivers?
