hi folks,
i get a render glitch like the one attached (the black areas encircled by white pixels). it looks as if there is an alpha applied to the texture but there definitely is none, how is this to be fixed?
it seems the error is attached to the texture somehow, on some occasions i also get artifacts at the contour of the object, which display as single white pixels. anyone stumbled upon this before? it is mental ray, but the error appears with renderman and maya software as well. quality is at production setting.
since this is a ramp, i thought there was some value clipping, but on changing the ramp bottom colour from white to grey, it didn't change a thing.
any pointers would be great,
