View Full Version : looking for a batch render tool
chandro 05-30-2008, 08:15 PM ive been frustrated using the command line and wish theres a tool or render managers thats easy to use like just selecting file and output directory. ive tried downloading at highend but it wont read the setting render global it default as maya as the renderer instead of mental ray

Hi,
I wrote a little a little python script that is basically a UI for launching batch renders.. It's far from flawless, especially the log window and it doesn't have options for all supported batch parameters but it does the job.
It doesn't distribute or anything like that so you'll need satellite configured to utilise network nodes
Essentially all it does is it constructs a command line for you and launches Render.
I'll post it on my website if you're interested.

check out www.renderpal.com (http://www.renderpal.com) . Their render manager is free for up to 3 nodes. I like it a lot.

Yep! Forgot about renderpal. It's really cool, the free one is probably all the functionality you'll ever need until you get some major farm. (my python thing was more of an exercise in learning python).
