View Full Version : Shadow can't pass thru refraction enabled object

I have an issue that shadow cannot pass thru refaction enabled object.

I have setup a very simple scene:

3 objects
1 solid lamber shader object on the bottom
1 transparent phong object with reflection and refraction turned on, transparency to 100%
1 object at the top with the same solid lamber shader

1 light casting shadow
mental ray with raytrace shadows on

I've made sure that it cast shadow on the render while I have the refraction check off. As soon as I check it on there has no shadow going casting on the bottom object.

I've tried many settings which still doesn't work.

Need urgent help plz

found it. Its the raydepth of the "LIGHT" I turn it up and now it is working fine

just increase the depth ray limit in your light source
