developing on from this thread http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63026

I have created an .eps shape of an arrow and imported it into max and put a bevel modifier on it.
I have then created a bendy path that i want the arrow to follow using PathDeform modifier.
However i want the arrow to bend with the shape of the path but it wont.
Is there a way i can convert the shape to a mesh which will generate splines across the top and the bottom? i am right in thinking these will allow the arrow to bend?

I hope i am making sense :)

Howdy !

It'd be easier to tell with a screenshot, but yes i guess your problem is that the resulting geometry can't bend since it's too simple at first. You'd need to convert that into Emesh or Epoly (i'd say Epoly), and manually add those edges so that it can bend nicely, and of course the more edges you'll add, the nicer it will bend.
Actually i would advise you to convert the shape right after importing, that way you can manually extrude, bevel and add edges and keep a greater control over the geometry.

hope this helps : )
