Hi guys,

I stumbled accross this thread (Maya-forum):

Does something like this exist for Cinema4D? Is this what Kaydara could mean for C4D? Or is this beyond our capabilities (don't answer yes to this one, I will never believe you).

There is Visual Selector by Paul Everett that does almost the same: www.c4dtools.de

I thought visual selector didn't build rigs? With this Maya-script you actually build rigs (bipeds only for now), with all the constraints, targets etc.

Perhaps it wouldnt be hard for someone like Paul E. to translate the scene camera data into a little inteface that you could drag into your GUI--sot of like Light Pro or tag manager.
Yes, Motion Builder does this--but with less work. And the next version will do the same for quadrupeds.

with 2000 buck maya don't forget that.

at least its not 12,000 or what ever ungodly rate XSI goes for.

True, but MB offers a lot more besides the auto-rigging feature.

I use Paul's Visual Selector and it's great! Dead easy to set up. There are some screen shots of my model/rig in the "Learning to Wlk" thread.

But, no, it doesn't do rigging.

PS I'ce been checking out MB videos...I have to admit, looks pretty good. Needs to be easy, too, though.

only plugin for autorigging we have currently is the alittle cup of mocca or whatever its called, that only uses the mime rig unfortunately

(just got motionbuilder delivered from fedex.. lets se whats hiding in the box..)

no, just a better rig than the mime.

The mime was okay, but as people learn about SIK and get more set u with expresso and Hard IK then you'll see many better rigs.
