Heya gang, I'm currently waiting on my new Mel scripting book and was wondering if anyone can lend a hand with my first project. After I get all the basics out of the way I'll be dabbling in the creation on a synoptic viewer somewhat like this

http://www.manus3d.be/forum_maNus/aniMan_02.jpg

http://www.3dfestival.com/stories/2003_03/dronez/synoptic_view.jpg

And I would like to make the images used to be variable like that latter pic there, because two of my main characters have a "goat leg" or 3 jointed leg setup.

So now comes the hard part... starting :)

any pushes/guides would be cool, or hell we can make this a project for everyone reading :)

As far as i know, you could tweak it with the hypergraph.

There is a possibility to import a background-picture (Options --> Background image) , and a free positioning (Layout --> Freeform Layout) of the nodes.

Not sure if / how good those settings/layout get saved

Maybe you could use these settings for Your script.
