View Full Version : need help on a pose

Hey ppl, This is a drawing I did the another day. the problem is the pose seems a little stiff to me but I can't figure out what's wrong. I'm hoping someone can help me out, Also please let me know if something else seems wrong.

I think the view is the fault. Draw it from a perspective view.

A few things struck me:
The shape of the head looks wrong. The curve from the forehead to the back of the head to too ascending. Get a hold of a picture of a head or, better still, a skull. Study the curves and shapes that make it up.
Also, in the posed drawing, the neck is too rigid. The spine should be more curved and the neck shouldn't be in line with the top. It should be more slouched. The best way to see this is to do it yourself. Sit on the side of something where you can see yourself in a mirror, then take note of the angles and curves of the legs, spine, neck and head.
