Just brushing up on my poly modelling as I have a reasonable grasp but have often got frustrated in the past but im giving it another go and so far so good. One question though is - is it possible to extrude a face along a spline - keeping the face uniform all the way along? Say I need a curvy bit of piping connecting two objects that I want to keep as polys rather than just using sweep nurbs - how can I easily achieve this?

Cheers

Use the extrude deformer from the MoGraph menu.

It's possible even without mograph.
You'll need a little plugin called "Extrude along Spline" (or eas) ;)

it's a shame that cinema 4d does not have extrude along spline feature in it's modelling toolset and I think this feature indispensable for every modeller.

As explained above, it does if you have Mograph, if not the free plugin EAS adds this functionality.
