Many thanks for the link,

What is the name of the program they are using for animation?

It's likely a PDI proprietary tool. DreamWorks only used Maya for SharkTale then incorporated all of PDI's tools for the projects that followed.

Same here. It looks like it going to be an awesome movie. Anyone else think this movie was just an excuse for the animators to learn Kung Fu, perhaps to get back at a childhood bully?

Yeah, can't wait to see the 2d sequence James Baxter worked on for Kung Fu Panda.

Looks like a fun film and looove the designs.

There's a short thread over at animationnation.com found here. (http://www.animationnation.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=013076)
Charles (he who runs animationnation.com) had seen the show some weeks ago, and another guy on that thread saw it last night at the wrap party screening. They both had really encouraging things to say about it.

I gurantee Kung Fu Panda is good, I saw it in theaters at our big employee screening premiere last week and it was AMAZING. Everyone here at work is incredibly excited for the movie's release, it's been getting great reviews!

As for the software used on the film, it's (nearly) all proprietary.

Between Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E, I would venture to say this will be one VERY strong summer for CG.
