View Full Version : Gamma with Physical Sun, SSS, Photographic Exposure
chadmv 05-29-2008, 06:41 AM Forgive me if this is a stupid question. But I'm using Physical Sun/Sky with Fast Skin and Photographic Exposure Control (mia_exposure_photographic). I set the rgb conversion values to .318 and the gamma on the exposure control to 1.8. The image comes up really dull.
What am I missing here?
Thanks!

i remember there was something weird when using a sss shader and mia_physical_sky, you had to tick an option in the sss shader, i don`t recal exactly what....
be sure thow to degamma your textures with the degamma node.

Yeah, I've checked on "Include Indirect Lighting" on the lmap node and check off "Screen Composite" on the sss shader.
Thanks for that article. I had to turn the gamma in the mental ray tab down to .555 = 1/1.8 and change my frame buffer to 3x8 float. I also had to bump up the physical sun multiply to 4, which I thought was a bit strange.
