View Full Version : Euler Filter
rwadams 05-28-2008, 03:36 PM Does anyone know if there is a problem with using the Euler Filter in Maya to correct gimbal lock? Its an incredibly handy trick and it work 90% percent of the time, yet none of my teachers at school know about it. If you don't know about it, it is in the graph editor under Curves>Euler Filter. Also the may help docs are little vage on exactly what it does. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks

yeah it is definitely a great little trick.
I just recently learned this from the intuitive animation gnomon DVD, after learning how to actually correct the gimbal lock from one of my professors.
the intuitive animation dvd is excellent by the way, really a simple easy to understay method of getting your poses quickly.
