Can maya export into 3ds..I have some programmer friends that are making games and 3ds is a more cross-platform file instead of using .x. If someone knows a way please tell me.

didja check the aliaswavefront plugin section, isnt there some 3ds to obj import/export or something? I dunno, check it out!

They have a import :( no export yet...

hey that works great for me, it also exports almost everything i think. i havent used it in a while now. but that should fit your pants.
