I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I couldn't find a premier forum in here. If I missed it, please redirect me.

I made an animation at standard resolution (480p) and edited it in premiere cs2. I now want to update it to 720p. I’m in the process of re-rendering the source files to the new resolution, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to change the resolution of the project so that when I unlink and then relink to the hd files I don’t have to redo the entire edit. Is this even possible in cs2? I sure hope so because I’m trying to update all my work and I don’t want to have to redo the sequences. Or maybe there’s a way to import a sequence into a different, hd-res project.

Thanks for any help guys,

James

Export an EDL or AAF, create a new HD project, re-import the EDL. That's how offline-editing has worked for eons and much simpler than manually re-linking all the sources. It will also neatly avoid any issues with invalidated media caches or pixel aspect ratio mismatch. You may just have to re-apply some effects and transitions, but as long as you work from PPro to PPro, that should be very few occasions.

make a new premiere project and choose the correct hd settings.
import your old SD premiere project into it.
turn the footage offline.
reconnect to the hd media.
you´re done

Thanks guys, worked like a charm (don't know why I couldn't figure it out on my own).
