View Full Version : How do you make a poly & wire render
AnavelGato 05-19-2003, 06:11 PM How do you make a render of a model so that it shows the facets/polys and also the wireframe?
In a viewport you can show the edges but I can't find a way to do this in a render.
I assume you need to make a material for this but I can only make it wire or not.

There's a hack you can use to do this, though there are at least two texture plugins available that you can also use. The hack is simple, though, so I'll just describe that.
Clone your model, and apply a push modifier to the clone with a very small push amount (depends on scene scale, but try 0.1 to start). You just want the clone to be pushed out enough so that it's surface rests just slightly on top of the original. Apply a wireframe material to the clone, and leave the original with a standard, solid material. That should do it!
