View Full Version : animating opacity change
mattregnier 05-19-2003, 05:26 PM Hey all- I'm a total n00b to flashMX. Need help trying to figure out how to animate the opacity of a layer/symbol. I've looked through the online docs, and can't find it anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated, I'm sure it's a simple option box i'm just skipping over somewhere.
thanks-

if i were you i'd take an hour or two and run thru the tutorials under the help section, it'll help immensely. you'll need to turn whatever you're trying to animate into a symbol, then keyframe your end point, select the symbol and set its opacity (alpha) on your properties palette at the bottom, then do a motion tween between the two keyframes so it animates from one to the other.

Thanks fig! That helped so much :D I actually have ran through all the tut's but didn't see anything about the opacity animation. I come from an adobe background, so sometimes macromedia boggles my mind, opacity = alpha :D oh well, anywho, thanks a bunch
