does anyone know how to get a decent zdepth render from maya to use in after effects for depth of field? I have a method that works well in small files using a solid white surface shader on all my objects in the scene and rendering with software with a black environment fog with its color based transparancy off. it works for small environments like room models but not larger ones like city models. I cant seem to get any depth...or any grey scale from white to black, just a solid grey color (see attachment). Im new to this so I hope someone can understand what Im trying to say
