View Full Version : Nurbs! Left over bits after trim
hopefully you can see here that after performing a trim to trim out a hole for a doorway, large sections are left over...
can someone suggest why and how i can fix/avoid it?
thanks

It could be a display bug. Have you tried adjusting your NURBS Shaded display settings?
If it renders with the artifact then I'd examine both your trim curves/surfaces and the trim surface to see if they have any weird issues. (Too dense, not dense enough, etc.)

I'm not sure my recent "problem" is similar to yours, but let me tell you about this thing I saw.
Hmm, I had projected some curves onto a nurbs surface, and they looked fine.
Now I did the same thing, but from another angle, and the projected curves was displayed as pretty much out of shape (odd shape), and not just that "has to be more presice" look on it.
It turned out that by going into component mode and selecting cv's for the curve on surface, the cv's looked fine, and when rendered it looked perfect.
Strange, but slightly annoying. Wasted quite some time worrying.
undseth: so it continued to display weirdly in maya but rendered correctly?
plotz: how should i adjust NURBS shaded display settings?
i tried to change the nurbs display detail level, but it just became worse...
anyway, thanks for your comments, i'll try a render and see what happens
