You're probably the first one who made the new Gallardo. Absolutely nice! I'm currently working on the Diablo SV and hope to finish it during the next days. :applause:

The modeling is good, but the tires are a wee bit swanky.
They look not really like rubber should look like.
But anyway, apart from that...

wow, that was impressive!

I really like how you animated the engine, very cool.

Could have used a higher resolution though, some of the parts were hard to see...

DUDE! that video is freaking tight! amazing job, the only thing I would critique is the size of the emblem at the end of the vido, I would get a little closer to it. It's a little hard to read when it is so small. Other than that, Great job. Keep up the great work.

That is just insane.. great job on the video, my only crit is that I'm not sure that the drum/epic music parts really suit the style of such a new age car... nothing huge and that's only my opinion. Good work!

all those parts must have took a long time

i think with people with talents like yours, the advertising industry can make away with hiring actors and renting the cars to make it's ads....

3D CG is really a way to go for car ads.....

WOW!

Now I saw the video, too. That's really impressive! Damn good work, like everything on your website. You reside in Sindelfingen, so the customer for this work could be Lamborghini Stuttgart?

That was sweet, my only complaint is that the vid wasn't in a highter resolution. :p

Oh man, oh man!!!
This is one of those times, when i just wish i could wave my pudgy little fingers in the air and shout "ABACA-DABRA!!"
And the 3D model of the car comes alive and you can drive away with it.... seriously, i won't mind giving up 5 years of my life just to own one of these babies.

oh man... no life, time to stop day dreaming and wake up...

Very nice indeed, my favourite car currently...

I nearly crash every morning on the way to my work cos' there's one parked near our building and it's well... SWEET !!!

Impressed with the work you done, nice to see a good model put to good use

yeah when I first saw the still all I though was that it was just another car model, and it wasn`t too special. the yellow shader looks like plastic, and that it was very bland.

but once I saw the flik I saw what all the hype was about. slick sh!t indeed.
the only thing I would change is theres a weird cut in the music at the end, when it goes back into the orcestral from the techno. that sorta sounds weird. like you just cut the beat, and slapped the beginning back in.

then the yellow on the car looks pretty bad. I know this isn`t what you were going for, but it REALLY need something to reflect off of cause the car isn`t cool enough to stand alone.

but I bet you got hella paid for this so PROPS. I wish I had lamborgini on my client list.,- you b!tch...

congratz and you deserve a good portion of respect finishing this in such a short amount of time... loads of supercool stuff in this clip ...
Could you shed some light on what your source-material was and how you brought it into the software? blueprints? cad-data?

cheers,

Congratulations on completing such a thing in so little time.

Surly you guy's know it could have been better though. Take no offence when i say it could use a better render. And the part where it's rolling along those luminated roads, I think sould have been replaced with more vigerous screen captures of the machine riping along in higher speeds with the independant suspension doing it's thing. And those pistons could have made a more violent appearance then cut into a slow expression.

Of coarse it's easier said than done. But you guy's together got that done pretty quickly, and did a great job.

Hands down..This one is riding on the modeler.

great model once again, but you had the CAD information right :wavey:

I'm not sure I like the overall impression.

Technically the piece is very nice, but the modeling couldn't have been that hard starting from Studio Tools date (or whatever Audi/Donckerwolke uses). For an extremely fast and agressive sports car, the presentation is way too calm - it's more like a pretty feature list.

The only interesting info for me was that the V10 comes dry-sumped as standard, but then this is something I want to read from a review in evo magazine or a spec sheet, not from a teaser video...

Sorry if I come over as harsh, but a car with a price tag like this isn't bought because some guy needs to go to work a bit quicker but only for emotional reasons - and this is where the video lacks, it doesn't transport or arouse the emotions of the viewers.

cheers

That was the purpose of the video in first place. It is not meant as a commercial for the gallardo. It was used at a press event to empasize the new features.
I agree that for a commercial you would only aim at the emotions.

Hi,
thanks you all for your comments and crits.
I´m really impressed by so much positive response!:D
Also a lot of thanks to the cgtalk people for placing an image at the front page!
Sorry for the small and bad MPEG. Currently we don´t have a better one. I will try to make a larger one these days, but that one will become much bigger of course.

To answer some questions:
We use 3ds max for these kind of jobs.
As source we got CAD-data. Some could be used and some we had to remodel, because of the bad quality. We always have big trouble with CAD-models. The tesselation is horrible and there are always a lot of gaps between surface patches. This means that we have to cleanup the models by hand and sometimes it is faster to remodel them.
The look of the film is based on the press photos of Lamborghini
(see their website www.lamborghini.com). That´s why the car is yellow and why there are only some lightplanes reflecting on the car body.

So far,

Markus

Excuse if I ask it again but do u want to tell us that the modeling is with 3dsmax? If yes nurbs or polygon? Be more precise about it (if spline modeling or something else)or do u mean the rendering in max?

Bye and thanks in advance;)

Would be cool to see the underside, se the engine and all the rest in the reflection. Then maybe the lightning wouldn’t seam as strange as it is now.
