I use Max 4.2

Is there an easy way to move an object away from its own stationary pivot?

Must be able to animate

any help would be greatly apreciated?

I don't understand what you're asking :|

You can do it by moving the vertices (sub object level) and not the object.

I could do it at a sub object level but i was hoping for an easer way as it has to be animated.

Maybe some combination of dummys/ path constraints?

i need to be able to rotate the red disk around the blue sphere after it comes out of the hole

make sense?

Thanks for taking the time to help:)

I would do it with a Linked Xform modifier and a couple dummies.
