I am creating an artery for a medical illustration.
The basic shape I am using is like a half-pipe. I built the model in C4D. The mesh is one continuous shape, but one could think of it as two parts- the inside of the vessel and the outside.
Now here's the trouble: Whenever I manipulate the "inside" of the vessel- paint on it, draw masks, sculpt- it affects the "outside" as well. This is bad because I am trying to sculpt a clot in the middle of the artery. I don't want the outside of the vessel affected.
It would be fine if I could paint a mask on the outside, but the mask paints straight through on both the inside and outside of the half-pipe.
So my question: is there any way to restrict the painting that I am doing (including masking) to one side of this mesh. Or does anyone have any other solutions to the problem?
Thanks in advance!
