The video is just a demo. It has no commercial meaning. :) Because the sword in the demo consulted one sword in CG of "Warcraft III".

I believed the CG of "Warcraft III" is amazing and wonderful. And I want to get that skill level. I noticed the sword used by prince of Human Clan is so exquisite that I intended to rebuild it.

I worked in company in the daytime. After I came back home I have only a few hours to rebuild the sword, and it took me almost all my spare time, and I have to wash my cloth and do some housework. :(

After finished the sword, I animated it and put it into the scene that I see now.

I spent two days rendering the scene, Once I got the images sequence, I used premiere 6.0 and combustion 2.0 to do the composite work, such as edited the music and add some video effect.

The fog in the movie was created by afterburn, the headache is,is it cost so much rendering time.

I need more time, but I have no, otherwise I can do better.

Damn!
My English is so poor. I could not remember any words.

WOW! this sword looks awesone! i can't wait to see that clip :)

here is a short clip he made of this sword. the sword is laying on a table or somthing and the camera starts at the bottom and pans to the top. not much here, but it shows the beauty of the sword very well.

Laixin - would you mind telling me what is says in chinese at the bottom? (i think it's chinese)

EXcellent! My only gripe is that the sword texture and wall texture are a little too similar.

hmm, i think that it adds to the 'realism' of the pic. making it look as if whatever elements/time have worn down the walls, has also worked its magic on the blade of the sword. and it really gives it that "i've been stuck in the ground at this spot for millenia" look. lol

Awesome work, but as a warrior fan i noticed one little detail i think you missed, that sword is HUGE right? so it has to be a two hander and in that case why is the handle so short?

Unless your some sort of demigod i doubt anyone could weild that thing! :p

not too shabby. But it looks a little too heavy. You could probably achieve the same result with half as many polys.

laxina
05-22-2003, 07:52 AM
Jbo123

you are right,

but I apply meshsmooth modifier to almost every object., and the "Iteration " vol is 1,2or3 ,So I can control the amount of the polys freely.

so thats how frostmourne looks like( i think thats the sword's name)..

u can only imagine how heavy it is by looking at it...texturing is marvelous..front page material...at least in my opinion:applause:

The animation is cool!
Well in the game Arthas (I hope) wields the sword with only one hand... He is under some demonic enchantment though.
Once again, GREAT work as always...

05-25-2003, 11:23 PM
But two things:

- The geometry is very heavy.
- The handle is too short being the sword so heavy.

Nice texture work!!!

Looks just like the real thing!......i mean.....the original......3d frostmorne, nothing like ambition for motivation. The only flaw i would comment on is the original is slightly more reflective. I thought the game version of the cinematics did no justice to itself at all. a lot of crispness was lost in the compression, for those who can, grab the dvd version of the cinematics.

Sword looks good - however, the pantena is a tad blurry for such a closeup - probably needs to be 2-3 times higher resolution.....

AND SO IT RETURNS, very nice man looks awsome., heh, looks like you got that long render down now, heh.
