View Full Version : cached nCloth crashes with mental ray and motion blur

Hey there,

I've created a cloth scene composed of nCloth objects, and have cached using single file per frame.

I've setup the scene for rendering with mental ray, and it always crashes with I try to render with motion blur. I haven't used Maya Software (I can't either, using mental ray shaders), but this problem is definately related to mental ray's motion blur...

My settings for motion blur are:

Motion Blur: Full
Motion Blur By: 1.000
Motion Steps: 1

Any ideas?

download AmShapeBaker.mel from highend 3d and try to bake your cached ncloth geo with that. It's just a simple script that duplicates the object for everyframe, creates blendshapes and then deletes all the targets. it should just give you 1 moving geometry at the end. try to render that with MB. ( make sure u get rid of your old ncloth tho)
