View Full Version : mac sees 3 GB of ram instead or 8 GB !!!

at work i have an Intel mac pro with 8 GB or rams ... Mac OS 10.4.11 .. AE CS3 ..

now when i start AE the splash screen says (using 3% of 3 GB ram) .. also in AE prefrences / memory n cach it sees only 3 gb or rams
and in the system profiler they're all there ...

i know these issues with AE and missing rams on 32 bits windows .. !
but this normal with mac OS X ?! or is it somthing wth AE settings ?!

please help me ..

Please do a forum search before posting next time - on any AE-related forum. This has been answered a million times over. The behavior is perfectly normal within the bounds of what you can expect from a 32bit application on OSX.

apologies ... !!

i actually did search before i post .. but was searching for "RAMS" instead of "RAM" it turned out huge difference !!
anyways .. thanks :)

i might suggest u post a sticky thread of this subject coz not all people understand the hardware and software architecture ...
