View Full Version : Rope Rig Setup?

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the place I should post this question but anyway... :)

I have a question regarding rope or cable setup. Ok what I have is.... I have a mic jack that is plug into a speaker or some sort and the mic is being hold by the character. I want the character to be able to drag along the speaker by he's moving around... but I want this cable setup to be able to manual keyframe the cable so no dynamic setup.

My question is how would you setup this kind of cable where both end is attach to something. With object like tails I can pretty much setup FK bone chain and animate them.

Some people suggest a CV curve then extrude a circle along it. with each vertex attach to a cluster and pretty much animate that... yes it works but... how do I keep it so that the volume always stay true instead it sometimes seems stretch or it become shorten....

Anyway hope my question isn't too confusing. (sorry for bad english)

I think that simple spline ik will do the trick for you...
