Hi all,

Youve probably got this question before, but i searched and couldnt find an answer.

Anyway, when texporter does its thing, it seems like im getting a top view eg.

The mesh is a head.

What settings to i need to change to get map i can actually paint on?

In Max 5.x, use the Unwrap_UVW Modifier to flatten the texture coordinates first. Texporter just "exports the Texture coordinates" as the name suggests, you have to prepare the model before that. Check the help on the available options...

Pretty much except there's no Unwrap_UVW modifier.

Look up Unwrap or UVW modifier in the help

well there _is_ a unwrap_uvw modifier, but its all manual, so no nice and easy 'flatten mapping' tool...so you should just upgrade to max 5! :beer:
