frisketus 05-22-2008, 06:06 AM When I try to "Close" or "Close All" when I'm finished with a file the progy hangs and the only way out is the three fingered vuylcan salute. All other functions of the Edit Menu work (as well as all other frunctions. Any ideas? Thanks.

Freezes or crashes on close of CINEMA 4D have often been caused by plugins.
Please try to remove all plugins and try again.

Hi Srek. Thanks for the prompt response. I already had removed 3rd party plugins and reinstalled the CINEMA 4D. The problem persists. The only plugins present are AR and CINEMA 4D FlashEx v2 and Spacemouse v1.0, all had been operating fine in the past. It's just a guess but I think the Close command does not remember the file path (I'm not a programmer.) I wrote support about the problem and am waiting for a reply. Thanks again. George

Once I had bad memory... Only apps which used a lot of mem crashed once in a while, and more and more, till it became predictable. I downloaded a memory test prog which I ran over night and bingo.... that found the problem. It's a long shot.. but maybe you are heading that way.
Cheers

Rainer - thank's for the response. I did a checkdisk last night and could find no problem with the hard disk. I'll try to test my ram to see if I have a problem. Thanks again for the idea.

Hi Srek -
FYI Thanks to MAXON tech support the problem was isolated and solved. Seems that there were some corrupted files (hidden?) that were not uninstalled with either Windows or CINEMA 4D's uninstallers. Simply deleting the MAXON folder and the reinstalling the program got rid of the offenders.
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
