For those of us eagerly awaiting the release of Spore (http://news.cnet.com/8301-13772_3-9870315-52.html), from The Sims creator Will Wright and his Maxis studio, Tuesday was a day for whetting the appetite.

That's because Maxis, an Electronic Arts studio, released a little crumb for us, a video from the cell-stage of Spore.

Very sweet! That looks great! The "evolution" behind it seems pretty messed-up though and I hope it won't get to much flak for that. Looking forward to playing it.

Man, I've been wanting to play that game ever since that first presentation was unleashed on the web! Just a few more months. :beer::buttrock:

I really liked the earliest demos of the cell-stage, but then was disappointed in the updated samples. This latest video, however, once again has me excited about that part of the game.

ever sins the video with Robin Williams i wanted this game, amazing and new genre of gaming. love it.

Oh, my mouth is watering.

I rarely get so excited about a game these days, but I am definitely excited about this one! Nothing like a game that helps your creative juices flow!

Maybe they'll release it with a Fundamentalist Mode, allowing you to jump right into the game at Society level :)

This game looks so freakin sweet. Every new video and image just makes me want it more and more. Not much longer now... :beer:

As a fundamentalist (use your imagination as to what that means) who disagrees with the theory of evolution (or how we supposedly came about), I have no issue with the fact that creatures actually evolve. Bring on Spore.
