the animation mother model is quite impressive. loved the show reel. there are some really cool animations on there, lots of them have a cartoon look and feel. when in school i remember my teacher told me no one wants to really see that kind of stuff because thats what i liked to do, i guess he was wrong. everyone isn't aiming for ultra realism.

I wonder if all of these have made it in to the show. I would think they have since they are in the trailer, but they haven't released a list yet. I'm curious because I worked on the Bridgestone "Scream" commercial and we haven't heard whether it is in or not.

Yes, all pieces in thetrailer are accepted pieces. As far as the list, well SIGGRAPH is way behind schedule this year and since they changed the format to a screening festival, who knows when we'll see a list.

They should have already sent confirmations. If not log in to your submission account (or in the worst case contact Jill Smolin or Emru Townsend) to check if you thnk the piece ws accepted but didn'treceive any notification.

I had the opportunity of learning that Meats would be producing this piece for SIGGRAPH this year. Through my brief conversations with him I know he has put a lot of effort into this and it really shines as a piece that fits the theme and demonstrates his expertise in what he does.

Great job Meats! and congrats.

Meats always delivers.

One of the very few fine artists using 3D as a medium.

Sweet! Great job Meats. Rabbit holes stuff at the gnomon booth last year was one of my favorite things. Glad to see its taking off and open to the public to create now. Can't wait to see it at Siggraph this year.

Well, csmallfield, you're piece has been accepted, in fact, all the pieces in the trailer have been, plus lots more! Method has been notified of their acceptance. I only have one contact there but I would love to have another contact if you'd like to volunteer! (I actually do have some questions...)

Oh introductions - Hi all! Thanks for all the feedback. I'm the Assistant Producer for the Computer Animation Festival and we've really been working hard to make it great. If anyone has any questions, I'm (actually we're) happy to answer them - fire away!

Teapot was a first thing I got annoyed, because it seems like a bit of an corny ad for a certain 3D application/s.

Another thing was this "fractal" parts, which beginners may see as a "huge modeling task" but actually is a very "automatic -thing" at it's basic creation stages.

If I could see this as a hologram I would still enjoy it...except that lame teapot...

Thanks!

The festival looks like it will be really amazing this year, I can't wait!

pwallin - It's even easier than that! I used the GROBOTO (http://groboto.com/) program created by my friends at Braid Art Labs for the fractal stuff. You can even animate them with it. What's next? A "Make art" button? ;)

Mother is so cool...

I like the tea pot too. It brings more story to the image.

Great Job!
