It seems to be a character system where you put bones/objects an allow you to save poses or/and animation of them. Maybe

What looks strange is the great number of LOONG float panels. Btw, new screenshots, now showing HSDS, object properties(radiosity and more radiosityy :applause: ) and rotate manipulator.
Ahhh, and at right(editable poly) you can see the meshtools commands, shrink, grow, ring and loop

Looks like they really made the transform gizmos more like maya. Which is a good thing, hope they do more than just catch up on other packages.
i would love to see nonlinear animaton outside of character studio and better polygon tools maybe more like xsi and mentalray as a default renderer and better enveloping system. :)
maybe I am asking too much from 3dmax :)

Hey Bluemilk...you do have Layers in Max...just check out this plugin from rezn8:
http://www.rezn8.com/gearhead/freeware/LM_about.html
they also have a beta version which seems a bit more robust...

what you need layers in max you can use the selection groups that is the same with diferent name.
you can freeze ,hidden and change material with the same facilty that a layers system.

i want layers so i can hide/ work on specific items in my scene, when my scenes get complex, so when i start work on something new i can make it in a new layer. Like maya has and lightwave i think.

Im toolking about name selections.
you can make quickly with the box near align
and when you hit the h key you acces to select object hear you have acess to name selections too.
and in edit -edit name selection, you can do every thing that you wont with the selections group.
and this tools have a another advantage you can make subojects selections in a poly, mesh .....
well i now that is now accesible that in maya but for me is enough quiclky and powerfull.
the screen shot is in spanish because i have this software in this language.
sorry if you have problems for understand my poor english

Is it me or is the rotate gizmo EXACTLY like Mayas. And wouldnt that cause a hefty lawsuit, remember the trash can lawsuit between apple and microsoft? Personaly I think these screens are fake.

it's cheat... check the date in top of the window
ok it's only a small detail and perhaps i'm wrong but could it be that the y of the auto key button in the lower right is touching the border of the button corner? in max all the text in the buttons is centered and doesn't effect the shading of the border. to me it seems that the label has been put on the button with photoshop or so.

hey, you're right. Sharp eyes. That does look a bit fishy. I guess it could have had to be made to fit like that by programmers if the button had to be the same size as the 'key' button --and the type had to remain at the same size, too. Interesting.
