i was looking at this app, as a solution to creating a fairly accurate model of myself. Any information on this app would be appreciated.

Image modeler is really for geometric stuff, not curvy organic models. The geometry you get from it is not really usable for organics. You pretty much have to rebuild the model you get out of it because it is very messy(all triangles). Though it would work fine if your just building quick organic objects that your just camera mapping on for quick and dirty stuff.

Also don't get the idea that imagemodeler is this automated system that just creates all your models for you. It involves alot of setup work to get something usefull out of it.

I have to agree with everything beaker says. For complex surfaces (even simple ones that have concavities), it requires too many well-taken photo references and painstaking point correlations - and that's just to get the texture out. Forget about a complex mesh. Do that in a regular 3D CG app and use IM to get the textures. Realize that your photos should be without specular highlights and shadows, ideally. Otherwise, you'll have to use a paint program to fix them first (or textures, afterwards).

Use it to get your head/body texture, but either use a prebuilt human figure (like Poser geometry) or make one yourself in (enter 3D app of choice).
