Really cool stuff, my favourite moment is of course when the waterdrop turns into butterfly, awesome. Very detailed breakdown, so well layout, I especially love how it matches with the music that you use. Front page material!!!
Great work dongle! Can't wait to see what you work on next.

Wow, that's really, really cool !
De particle effects are very nicely worked out .
The only complaint that I have is that your 'explaination' at the end is a little quick and restless (<- I don't really know how to say that)

I'm no expert in FX work, but should you really be showing how you did everything in your show reel. Wouldn't it be better to have more content then tutorials. Just felt like filler to me.
Nice work by the way.

No I dont think so. I think that the "behind the scenes" footage was important and impressive just as the main presentation. It really shows how much affort and concentration was put to this project.
Absolutely beautiful reel, the music fits very well.

I agree with ToastMan on this one, The 'behind the scenes' feature was important. The level of detail is something i couldnt possibly imagine.
Amazing work, great concepts.

this is amazing work. Plus, I dont think he is trying to show others ow he did, more the technical knowledge that went inot the shot for recruiters and studios.
Dongle,
Beautiful work, you should send a reel :)

very nice. personally, i'm always impressed to see a nice design sense with a "technical" type reel. ie, nice graphic elements in your presentation explaining things. i think it is important to show breakdowns, especially for those interested in compositing. anyone can slap two layers together and call it compositing, but some of the sfuff you've done i know will impress people who do that type of thing for a living.
the butterfly effect is amazing, but only after i saw the elements and how you did it. i think for all the work you put into it, perhaps the effect and transition could "read" a bit better if it was slower? not sure. the first time i saw it, it just looked like a jump cut to me. water fall is great. very cool reel over all.

wow really nice job i agree about slowing the butterfly transition down just a tad because you cant really see the cool affect till later when you explained it, one quick question what was the name of the last two songs you played on there, anyway great job

Eggsister, danb_vfs, Hostile 17, phoenix2k, Kubik, thanks for replying! I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
Pjanssen, is the breakdowns or the scripting that you feel is difficult to follow?
ed209, it is detailed, and I did wonder whether or not I was getting too carried away, but it is a chance to show off the compositing that went into it, and I feel it rounds off the demonstration of skills.
ToastMan, Phrenzy84 thanks.
twidup - I'm really glad you like it, and I just might do that.
BrettPaton, - Thanks I actually intended the transition to be something you couldn't pin down, and I figured I would just explain it in the breakdowns, so I didn't worry about the speed. I tried to make the scripting demo at least somewhat entertaining, I'm glad it comes through.
Beechdbum - The group is called Feng Shui, and the two songs are actually excerts from an album of theirs. I got a copy of the CD from a friend. I don't know the name of the album, and it is all one track, so I don't really know the names of the songs.
jamesk - Thanks for all your help !

Great work Simeon!
It is so exciting to see your final piece and all the breakdowns. I really enjoyed watching the process that you went about designing and creating all the elements of your work. I think your hard work and dedication really shows and the butterfly sequence is just beautiful. Excellent presentation.
Good luck with everything!

MooMonkey, reetika, michelle, nomad_girl, facial - Thank you
manutara - I may show fewer scripts and slow the demos down in another edit. My only fear is that it becomes dry and boring to watch, but I don't want it to be confusing, so it will always be a difficult balance.

E=mc˛ - I am glad that you could learn something from it. I realized that the breakdowns were detailed enough that someone might learn a trick or two about compositing, so I am glad you did.
