View Full Version : FXPHD courses
RiKToR 05-18-2008, 05:37 AM Just wanted to share with you guys what I had worked on over in my fxphd classes. This is what I have done so far in my Shake 201 course. Basically I have taken the initial car add style shot and replaced the over exposed sky with a matte painting that fit the brief for sky replacement in the class. This is one of many classes Im taking in which I will add my own matte painting twist to add to my portfolio of finished works. I also put together a small explanation on creating the panoramic tiles in shake. My professor helped me figure out that.

I changed the title because I just realized people might thought I was asking a question and not showing off some recent work.

Looking good riktor, that matte painting is real nice. I like the colour pallette a lot.

Actually the tree wasn't too terribly bad. My mind grasp nodal compositing much better the layer compositing so Id rather have a huge criss crossing tree then some weired layer comp in after effects that has a bunch of things going on under the hood that I cant see. Not that Im bashing AE... I still use it, I just have more control in shake.

haha, I guess I'm quite the opposite. I love After Effects. I have to admit though, that so far shake is the only node based compositing program that I have dealt with. I'd love to try out other node based compositing tools, but shake and its user interface give me trouble :D I should perhaps use it a little more, to get a better feeling for it.
but well, to each his own, as long as the result looks good :)
