Hey guys, how exactly do you pull this off? The image below shows a M4A1 rifle. What I want to know how to do is make holes like he did which are circled in red. I mean how do you make the whole like that extruded into a cylindar?

Press F1 and see the help file in all it's glory.
Now copy and paste the word 'boolean' into the search feature.
Press the 'search now' button
Select the found articles about 'boolean'
Read those articles
Ponder on how your knowledge has grown by these simple actions.
Apply your newfound knowledge to create holes everywhere.
Come to the conclusion that boolean isn't working that good.
Search CGTalk on the word 'boolean'
Read all found threads.
Again ponder on your newfound knowledge.
Learn to use subdivisions.

But I did help, if you would have followed my instructions you would have found the solution to your problem.

What I was trying to make clear to you is that you can search for yourself instead of mindlessly asking questions.
I assume you want to go far in this CG stuff, you will encounter millions of questions on the way. You can go to a forum for every small question that pops up in your mind, but you can also find the answers for yourself.

The MushroomGod (praised be his name :) ) gave you a very good answer, but instead of searching yourself what the word boolean means you want us to tell it to you. Wouldn't it be much faster if you would look it up for yourself?

The same for subdivisions, there are millions of tutorials about subdivision carmodelling, just use Google...
