this one is absolutely amazing, I really enjoy this one, it completely took me inside the feeling and I felt I was on that ship, the sense of scale is amazing, the depth just perfect, great mood de gerardo, lovely image, maybe some kind of highlight in the water from the main light source in the center can work as well.

Thank you guy`s for your kind comments! I really appreciate it! I am going to work on animation too. Thanks alot. See you :wavey:

Jamie-with the highlight you right. But I was thinking, that in a little bit foggy atnosphere it will be not so strong. So I used a general reflection and highlight.

Hey degerardo,

Love the ship piece, nice composition and interesting use of the ice environment, you should pull these into a nerrative, be quite interesting to see a storyline evolve from them. The later piece is a little weak and old ( i mean that in a positive way :) ) need to push your ideas beyond traditional concepts now and expand a little further than castles ;)

Regarding your other post maybe you could extend the ship idea with a tropical oasis in the middle of the ice world you've created, ie perhaps the sailors are searching for some mysterious city .. ok, not quite original but its an idea :)

Best,
Dave.

Hey Dave :wip: nice to see you here man! Hehe, thanks for the comment. As you can see, I don`t have too much castles, I know is out of fashion now. So I just trying to be a really good in ice enviroments. But I like the idea about extend the ship idea with a tropical oasis in the middle of the ice world its sound interesting ;) but for now I am thinking about the Ice Lava enviroment. I am working on the Zbrush scene enviroment for that. A very nice rocks and stuff :) and also I am working on this one :) I know, I know ships again, but I would like to complete those different ice enviroments.. its a WIP03 for now. Here is a scene render from 3ds max + WIP03. Thanks man!

Well personally im looking for some kind of narrative from the whole ship/ice theme, i mean this in a positive way buts its very close to becoming, "oh, another ship/ice scene" and then "Oh, not another ship/ice scene" ;) over all it has my interest but it needs to expand a little, either past or future. I like the idea that a character or ship might be passing through these environments but now i'm saying to myself, where have they come from and where are they going, thats what i want to see next.

Regarding other matte work, hmm well depends i guess, on where you're heading with this? do you want to create for your portfolio? For me i'd say its time to see some hardcore invisible work, you've shown you can pull together a good composition but its all very ... safe :) i dont know, take a few pics of the thames and convert to a 18th century port, have the ships in dock and sailing out, 100% photo real and seamless, no dramatic vistas or strange camera angles :) show us a before and after and give a little element break down and CG, plates etc ..

looking forward to seeing more ;)

Dave.
