Title: Mountain Pass
Name: David Lesperance
Country: United States
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay, Vue, ZBrush

I'm trying to figure out what to do next so on the road to doing that I was watching some Lord of the RIngs, then came zbrush and vue, and finally a final renderin max with some vray. A horrible work flow but it was done in about 4 hours. I'm going to play some GTA 4 but maybe a scifi scene or vehicle next? Who knows. Anyfeedback or thoughts on what do next is needed and wanted. Thanks

I think the top of the mountains could use some work. You have a lot of this ice/snow going on at the base and in the foreground, but as it goes higher up you see all those whites and blues disappear. Maybe see about leaving more of that at the top so it feels like there is a drop in temperature as it reaches higher up into the sky.

As far as some other ideas, I think you should try working with some contrasting hues to really pull a full spectrum of color together. Since it's cold, maybe you could arrange some very old and craggy stone pillars that have this bowl of fire that line up and illuminate the path. Maybe use the Lord of the Rings' fire beacons of Gondor as reference. Having some touches of reds and oranges may draw your eye more to the path and give a good contrast to all the cool blues you already have in the scene.

Yeah this was really an intial test to see how real I could make something, the next piece is going to match the move :) hopefully. Too much veration isn't really all that present in reality and I thing thats one of the reasons the film looked so good. Thanks again for the feedback. With me luck on the next shot :)
