View Full Version : Deformations with Wire tool (for hair)
hi, im trying to model big chunky hair by extruding large sections out of the scalp and trying to use the wire tool to sculpt it..
but i dont know how to use the wire tool well. Does anyone have any info, tuts or anything about using the wire tool?
also i want to retain the ability to move the hair around like this.

There's a pretty good explantion in the manual.
What exactly do you wish to know more of about it?
Try these: :)
pt1: http://www.mtmckinley.net/tut4.html
pt2: http://www.mtmckinley.net/tut8.html
how to make cool hair with it ;)
im kinda getting the hang of it... but what i really want is to be able to use it to get the kind of "hang" of the hair without actually modifying the overall shape of the bangs of hair themselves...
now it is kinda messing them up by pulling their shape out weirdly.. but i keep trying
thanks ceql
its good info :)
is there any way of aligning a CV curve so that it sits perfectly in the middle of a oddly positioned piece of geometry?
ill try attach an image of what i mean..
if you can see it, the extrude sticking up is what i want to shape the hair. So i want to put a wire in the centre and be able to pull it down to make a nice curve down the side of the head.
if someone knows a better way to do this, please tell me!
once the deformer is in place, is it possible to break the connection temporarily and move the base wire's position, and then reconnect them again?
