well clouds are just 2 planes, and the material is done just with a 2D noise in the alpha channel

I played a bit with making landscape without using any plugins or thirparty software too, and i find your result very great !!

i love the sky / mountain part. and why did u say that "Grass shader sucks...." ? i dont think so. i think your grass rocks !

my only crit would be about the water part. it reminds a bit that the pic is CG, if u see what i mean. i guess it hard to make convincing water though, never tried.

anyway, my comment is bravo ! :applause:

EDIT : i forgot to ask u a question. how did u make the difference in the tip of the mountain ? did u apply/mix another material, or is it about light ?

Yes... u're right also water need more work....
For the tip of the mountain i applyed another material, with a distorted gradient on the alpha channel.

Youre welcome :D

I dont want to hi jack Sancioks thread so I will just say the two thing that are the most easily fixed with a CG landscape, built in 3D mainly,is 1 to pull some saturation out of your colors after you are finished. And 2 if t does not look right to your eye something is not ok,as your brain has a huge storage bank of more landscapes and natural formations then we could ever imagine, and every CG pic is measured up against it :) ....kind of daunting really isnt it......I love a challenge
