Hello, fellow cgtalkers,

I was modeling a female lower body. It's in a heavy wip stage

I don't know it this topology is good for animation since the model will be

rigged by the rigging TD's.

Is this topology okay for any leg movements? especially aroung the waist area..etc..

Help or any advice would be much appreciated.

Is this the high resolution version of a low control mesh? I wish it is, because if this is the model to skin, I think it's a bit too much dense... ;)

thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately it is the actual mesh.
It's a bit high. I am planning to lower the polycount down soon.

It will be a lower later on.. just would like to get some opinions about the
topology flow around the area where the bending accurs (knees, hips etc..)

As was said before, the mesh is very VERY dense right now and when it comes time to paint weights the TD will not be enjoying life (unless they have some good weighting tools/scripts worked up).

Is it possible to rig? Yes. Will it animate well? Yes. Will the TD groan when they open this file? Absolutely.

Basically, I'd show them the model and see whether they want you to change it or not. They may want the challenge, or they may not want to touch it at all.

As others have said, a bit of a pain to weight but it should work well. I'm not big on the small triangles at the top of the hips but I'm guessing it would not really cause much of a problem.

As some others stated, its pretty high res, but shouldnt be to much of a problem for a good rigger.

But i would get rid of the triangles, you really dont need them, and because of the density, when moving in animation, its pinching will become visible very easely.

For the rest its looking great, you could lower the density at some places without loosing detail.

But i would go talk to the one who will rig it, maybe he will just skinwrap it, your poly layout will work very well with that, because it so consistent.

Thanks a lot for the replies!
I'm planning to make a lighter version of the lower body. fix some wrong parts and move on to the upper body :)
