Im trying to find out as much as messiah as posible but there seems a limited amount of info on the site, i.e details on SSS, Hair plus there is no Demo of V3.

Is this application aimed at professionals that are alredy animators that can learn it tiral and error based in thier prior knowledge, does the manual for V3 cover every single feature in detail, while making it understandable to a new user to animation?

I want to see more about the hair, how it can make human hair and if you can style it using a Hair guide combe. Iv watched all the videos and I asume these are made for quick overviews.

Finnaly does anyone have the contact details for joe,s videos?

Sorry if im asking too many questions, but normaly there is more info out there on the internet and reviews e.c.t.

The hair tutorials are mainly quick overviews, but that's partly due to the complexity of the task. Hair is something that takes a while to get right, even when you know your stuff so the hair module hasn't really existed for long enough that anyone has had the time to experiment enough to make in depth tutorials I guess. There should be enough information in the tutorials that are there to get you started though I should imagine.

The manual is qute good actually, quite funny too. It introduces you to all the neccessary concepts and recommends some further reading on the subjects it doesn't cover.
It's up to you to take those concepts to whatever level you choose of course, you might find later that there are other ways of doing something that might be better. (like say, using a second IK chain instead of having IK directly on the FK chain.)

Experimentation is a good way of learning in messiah as well, especially for rendering since there are fewer tutorials on that side. There's a couple of nice ones though, the SSS tutorial (http://www.babylondreams.de/transferstuff/messiah/SSSTutorial1a.wmv) and maybe even the ratatouille tutorial (http://www.usefulslug.com/tutorials.html) are good starters. Check out zoogono.com for the listings.

The actual name of the modual in Messiah is named Hair and is refered to as hair and fur in the tutorial video from their site. The title of the video is fur 101.
