I have 433 "delete component" nodes and they are slowing down Maya alot (it takes several minutes to do anything)

So I open the attribute editor, select one of the hundreds of "delete component" nodes, and then i click on the "attributes" drop down window and select "delete attribute". A "delete attribute" window pops-up but nothing happens, the node is still there.

Can someone explain to me how it's done?

thx for any help.

oh, and i'm not really sure if the correct term is "node" so forgive me if that's wrong.

There are two ways (I know about) to delete those nodes.

1- in the script editor write the command "delete nodename".
2- delete de history.

You can do the delete history option if your character isn't skinned. If it is you will probably lose your binding.

You might be able to export everything into a new scene.

Also try the Optimize File option. It dumps a bunch of unneeded nodes for you.
