not another naked person...but this one takes the biscuit, zoom in a bit more...lol

however aesthetically its fairly nicely modeled, is there any texture on it? textures look very 'raw'... but nice arse..

@G.
thx - what ever you mean with "biscuit"... (i know the meaning, but not, if it's meantioned positive or negative...)
however, this model has no texture - tried to get a grain by using the arnold renderer for radiosity.

@all
this is my first nude and organic - just doing mechanical things... so please be patient... :rolleyes:

Id make a hamburger with those buns.....

it would be better if it wasnt as blurry to crit the model, altough its looking proportionaly nice.

Well unless it's meant to be B&W I would texture it, if it is meant to be B&W though I'd up the contrast on this image or shift your lights around for some better highlights, go for some rim lighting (that just sounds wrong though doesn't it;p)).

well thanks alot for your comments - keep going ;)

for all who keep commenting (i hope so):

Well, um, yes, nice butt. Always room for a nice butt. :)

Dig the model, but I agree if you want it to be a standalone piece you definitely need some texture and lighting..even though there's shadows, right now it doesn't seem far off from an opengl capture. Even for B/W you definitely need a skin look to it, or even moreso for B/W because it's all about contrast and feel. Dramatic lighting would really sell it.

Also if you're going for a soft filter look in pshop should blend the blurry overlay in less and make the blur size larger, right now that seems more out of focus entirely vs. hazy.

Alright, I have a few comments to make on this piece.

First of all, I honestly mean no offense - but this is not a very good piece, and there are a number of reasons why.

The question can't help but come up as "why?" While a buttocks can certainly be a beautiful thing to look at, its not a particularly interesting subject matter to re-create in 3D. It serves no purpose outside of this still image, which - while it might have been one of those artistic type photographs doesn't carry over as well as a digital painting. On top of that it isn't necessarily going to help you grow as a 3d artist. I am guessing you are just starting to work on 3d, and if thats the case, I am of the opinion that you probaby would have learned more if you had attempted a face instead of taking yoru friends advice and instead rear ends.
If you still want to model rumps, here are some modeling tips.

My next crits are in regard to the geometry itself. While the oversall shape and proportion are there (although the waist seems quite small), you did not use the geometry to its full potential. I'm fairly sure I can tell from this smoothed version that its too heavy. The buttocks itself is still quite square. Its possible its just the camera angle but I can see portions of the lineflow where it should have been more evenly distributed. Especially along the crack of the butt, and that carries down into the leg, underneath the buttocks that is closest to the camera. It looks very pinched, The same applies to the leg itself.

You have some bad tessalation near the top crack of the butt as well, usually indicitive of triangles, or n-sided polygons. Easily avoidable and easily fixable.

The texturing is quite boring. its enough to remove that default shader feel but there its a pretty generic texture, with no sign of trying to actaully paint in shadow, or imperfections, wrinkles, sellulite (sp?), moles, stretch marks - Just because its CG, doesn't mean you should be afraid to dirty it up a little bit. I know I need not mention the lack of visible spec, bump, reflection maps.

My final words of advice would just be to keep working on it, practice manipulating polygons to give you smoother surfaces, avoid any 3 or 5+ sides poly's, and take on projects that are challenging but possible.

I hope my crits don't offend you, as they are not meant to, but I'm not doing you any favors by telling you how awesome this work is when I see areas that you can you really improve in.

thx danb_vfs for your advice - I do really appreciate them.

you are right when you say that I am new to 3D - not basically, but to "organic" or even human objects. I'm not offended - I wouldn't have posted my work here if I were too sensible towards some constructing critics - keep going!

As I say: an image is never finished - some would say that this one is WIP only. My intention was quite different from being photorealistic, but I will keep hands on this model.

thanks again! :)
